Anna Marie Shirer,93, of Weirton, WV died Friday August 31, 2018, after a brief stay at Valley Haven Nursing Home in Beech Bottom, WV..
Born on December 1, 1924, in Steubenville, OH, Anna Marie was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lillie McCartney Fenske. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Shirer; and her sisters, Betty Hatfield and Catherine Tarr.
Anna Marie was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Anna Marie enjoyed playing the organ and the piano and was the former organist and pianist with her church.
She is survived by her two sons, James J. Shirer (Nancy) of Clearwater, FL, and Robert R. Shirer (Lea) of Weirton, WV; a brother, Paul Fenske of Weirton, WV; two grandsons, Jeffrey and Jason Shirer; seven great grandchildren.
Keeping with Anna Marie’s wishes a private service will be held with Minister Larry Barkley.
Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Anna Marie was a sister, to my long time neighbor, Catherine Tarr. She was always friendly, and I would see her out in the public. and we would talk. I’m sorry to see she has passed. My sympathies to her Family. Helen Phillips

Jim/Nancy, Bob/Lea: Jim, I know you2 are in Florida and I hope this finds you2 doing well and Bob…I never see you anywhere in town! I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. It’s sad that this is the only way of communicating at times. What’s scary is WE are becoming that older generation now. I will keep you in my prayers for your healing.
