arthur miser, jr.
Arthur L. Miser, Jr., 89, of Weirton, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Born May 28, 1928, in Steubenville, OH, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Dorothy Miller Miser. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel Miser, and his sister, Marilyn Miser Walasczyk. Arthur graduated from Weir High School in 1946 and attended West Virginia University. He retired as manager of Corporate Implementation at Weirton Steel Corporation. He was past trustee and treasurer of First United Methodist Church, where he was a life member. He served as past president of the Board of Trustees at Weirton Medical Center and also served as president for 30 years of Weirton Police Civil Service. He was past secretary of both the executive committee of Upper Ohio Valley BHJ and the Board of Directors at Williams Country Club. He was a past member of New Cumberland Lodge #22 AF & AM, the Weirton Commandry K.T. and Osiris Shrine and Royal Order of Jesters 13 in Wheeling, WV. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alice McDonough Miser; three sons, Arthur L. Miser, III and his wife Betsy of Hanoverton, OH, Jeffrey Miser and his wife Roberta of Lambertville, MI, and Richard Miser and his wife Karen of Weirton; daughter Alison Kramer and her fiancé Daniel Sobol of Weirton; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. At Arthur’s request, he has donated his body to the West Virginia University School of Medicine.
