Betty J. Beegle

Betty J. Beegle, 89, of Weirton, WV, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville, OH. Betty was born March 1, 1929, in Middlebourne, WV, a daughter of the late Parley L. and Emma Mary Roberts Spencer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis “Dan” Beegle, on November 3, 2003; five brothers, Burl, Earl (Peas), Wilbur (Frank), Clinton (Buck) and Lawrence (Lard) Spencer; and a sister, Patricia Haley. Betty grew up on a farm in Middlebourne prior to moving to Weirton. She devoted her life to her family. In her free time, she enjoyed making beautiful quilts, square dancing, baking and shopping. She was a member of the Colliers United Methodist Church. She is survived by her three sons, Vernon F. Beegle and his wife Mary Ann of Weirton, Jeffrey A. Beegle and his wife Sandra of Wintersville, OH, and Larry R. Beegle and his significant other, Luann Henning of Myerstown, PA; three sisters Helen M. Jenkins of Steubenville, OH, Donna L. Trost and her husband Clair of Monongahela, PA, and Carolyn Sue Spencer and her partner Karen S. Wheatley, both of Weirton; six grandchildren, Michelle Hinchee, Mike, Matthew, Andy, Erin and Abigail Beegle, and seven great grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday, from 2–4 and 6–8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV where funeral services will be held Friday, at 11:00AM. Reverend Donald Stilgenbauer, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
