Evelyn Dello Gegas, 87, of Weirton, passed away Friday August 10, 2018 at Reading Hospital, Reading, PA. She was born on September 25, 1930 in Weirton, WV, and was a graduate of Weir High School. She was a daughter of the late George and Anne (Krayzel) Klash. She was preceded in death by her first husband LeRoy E. Dello, in 1981 and second husband of sixteen years, Peter Gegas in May, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Klash, and two sisters Dorothy Perconti and Marian Lammers. After 28 years, Evelyn retired as Executive Secretary for the Hancock County Board of Education. She was also the former assistant treasurer and membership chair of the WV/Hancock County Association of Retired School Employees. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Four Seasons, and the Hancock County and Weirton Senior Centers. She was an avid bowler and participated in two leagues for many years. Evelyn is survived by her three daughters Barbara Zanotti of Tampa, Florida, Teresa (Larry) Medaglia of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, and Eileen (Tim) Dello-Martin of New Holland, Pennsylvania; Roy’s daughters Royce Elaine Sayer, Linda Gattiker, and Royanne Miller and their families; and Pete’s children Cynthia Demers, Robin Greene, and Danny Gegas and their families. She has five grandchildren: Dominick Zanotti, Andrew and Julia Kwitkowski and Mariah and Ryan Martin. She is survived by many lifelong friends and her caregivers at Serra Manor. Evelyn also shared her later days with her caregiver and friend, Lisa Radick. Friends will be received on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Father Dennis Schuelkens, Jr., will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 229 California Ave., Weirton, WV 26062.   3. I’m so sorry to hear of Evelyn’s passing. I had the privilege of getting to know Evelyn through bowling and being on her team(s) for a good number of years and I’m so glad I can say I knew her. My deepest sympathies to you all on her passing – I’m sure she will be missed by many.
