Frances Catherine Risk
February 2, 1933 ~ March 15, 2018
Frances Catherine Risk, 85, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Woodland Hills Nursing Home, Weirton. Born February 2, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Merenda.
She leaves behind her husband George J. Risk whom she married September 9, 1953; son Terryn Risk and his wife Diana and only grandchild Anya Sarah Risk.
Frances enjoyed spending time with her only granddaughter and playing bingo.
She graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School.
Fran worked for the Kroger company for many years.
She is preceded in death by sisters Rosemary (Mario) Colantonio, Joanne Merenda and sister in law Elizabeth (Jim) Fenske.
She is survived by her sisters Delores (Joe) Frisco, Eleanor (Steve) Kopa, Regina (John) Brun; brothers Frank Merenda, Carl (Donna) Merenda and sister in law Enola (Joe) Romanelli.
Aunt Franci will be missed by her many nephews and nieces.
There will be no services and a private burial will be held.

I worked with Fran (and Teryn) at Krogers for many years. She always had a smile on her face and was a hard working woman! She was so proud of her granddaughter and was always showing everyone pictures and bragging about her –such a proud Grandma!!! May all of your wonderful memories of Fran help you through the days ahead — may she rest in peace!
