Obituary for Kenneth Alan Orlando

Kenneth Alan Orlando, 49, of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Weirton, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his home. Born December 18, 1967 in Steubenville, OH, he was the son of Kenneth and Sheila Beatty Orlando of Weirton. He was also preceded in death by his uncle Lanny Beatty.

After graduating from Weir High School in 1986, he continued his education at Jeff Tech. Kenneth began his x-ray technician career at Wheeling Hospital before moving to Colorado in the early 1990’s. Kenneth was an accomplished drummer and guitarist who played drums in the WVU marching band for a year. He played in numerous bands that included State of Mind. A love for the outdoors, Ken found his paradise in the Colorado Rockies. He had the opportunity to hike Pike’s Peak twice. A talented photographer, he had the ability to find beauty in all of God’s creations. Ken will always be remembered for his creative talents and his artistic abilities

In addition to his parents, Kenneth is survived by his sister Melanie (Daniel) Taylor of Weirton; special friend, Donette Bisbee of Colorado Springs and uncles Earle Beatty of Colorado Springs and Bill Beatty of Weirton, and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, Additional visitation will be Tuesday 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM at the First Church of the Nazarene 475 Colliers Way Weirton, WV.

Pastor Brian Richardson and Pastor Larry Barkley will preside.

Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
