Wanda Jean Long, 89, of Weirton passed away July 6, 2017, at the Weirton Medical Center. Born on August 2, 1927, Wanda was a daughter of the late William Daniel and Della Mae Ferguson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis Colbert Long on September 9, 2000; and her son, Daniel Long on November 14, 2007; and her brother, Dwayne “Bud” Ferguson. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Wanda cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards with her card club, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia Mountaineers, caring for her flowers, and vegetable garden, cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. A talented dancer, she enjoyed dancing the night away with her husband, Francis. She will always be remembered for her love of reading which always kept her mind very sharp. She is survived by her son, Timothy Long (Leigh) of Washington, DC ; her daughter, Laura Jo Spickard of Pittsburgh, PA; her four grandchildren, Tiffany Bodo Hawley, Lance Alan Long, Daniel Spickard (Linda) and Brad Spickard ( Amanda); her great grandchildren, Angelina and Gabriella , Jocelyn and Noelle Spickard, Aidan Taylor Settle, Lyvia Grace and Asher Jon Hawley. Visitation will be 10 AM until time of funeral services at 12 Noon Sunday at Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Weirton, WV Memorial contributions may be made to Arthritis Foundation www.arthritis.org
