Domenick Joseph Tonacchio, 89, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 7, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Domenick and Angelina Intrarrie Tonacchio. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ada Trombetta Tonacchio who died December 28, 2016, whom he married May 4, 1953, son Gary A. Tonacchio on March 3, 1993, brothers Frank, Joseph, William and Andrew and sisters Bambino (Bea) Manzo and Eva Bonefede. With 35 years of service, he retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as an assistant feeder on the CA line. He also served as Vice President of the ISU for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 10, the Marine Corp. League and a life-member of the Mingo Junction Knights of Columbus. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Domenick is survived by his son Domenick L. (Muriel) Tonacchio, daughters Mary (Danny) Flora and Monica (Robert Murphy) Tonacchio all of Weirton; grandchildren Amber Tonacchio, Erin (Bryan) Slanchik, Alexis (Joseph) Mahoney, Emily (Kevin) Barletta, Nicole (Christopher) Corwell, Frank (Maria) Flora and Domenick Murphy; great-grandchildren Victoria and Vivianna Corwell, Fallon and Rory Mahoney and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Father Harry Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.   5. I was saddened about the news of Domenick’s passing. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies and condolences. Such a nice neighbor. I remember he was always outside cutting grass or working in his garden.

Always will miss your singing and more importantly just your genuine good humor , nature and more importantly you’re smiling tanned face . I feel really honored to have known you .
