Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home supports our troops and respect the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. The men and women who serve our country represent the very best of all of us, and through their courage and commitment, they keep our nation safe and free.

We are honored to help families of veterans, working to ensure that all veterans receive the honors earned through their service. We offer funerals with military honors, coordination of earned benefits, and special cemetery discounts.

At Greco-Hetnick Funeral Home we assist with completing all the paperwork required by the Veterans Administration to claim earned benefits, to make the process easy for your family.

Assistance in securing all applicable benefits (Including Presidential Memorial Certificate and Governor’s Memorial Certificate)
Military honors, including “Taps” and American Flag presentation at ceremony Location

In lieu of flowers, we wanted to display my husband's paintings at his visitation. We wanted people to know what made him tick - it was art. Greco's welcomed the paintings, even removing some of their paintings and hanging his paintings. The reaction by mourners was overwhelmingly in favor of the paintings. It was a tribute to my husband. After all, we were there to celebrate his life. I'm not sure how many other funeral homes would have embraced my request. The staff at Greco's, especially Anthony, went over and above to make a sad situation a celebration of life. I could not have asked for more kindness from any funeral home.

I have been attending funerals at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home since I was in grade school, so, it has been over 40 years. Many relatives, including my father were laid to rest by this caring and professional staff. In recent years, my mother has lost two sisters. I’ve known John Greco for most of my life, but have not been in Weirton for any length of time in over 40 years. When my mother in law passed away recently, John and his team did everything to get her from Seattle back to WV and buried with her kin in Charleston. My elderly mother died very unexpectedly from COVID. Fortunately for us, she'd planned for her passing years prior. The funeral home took such good care in making sure that her wishes were carried out. There was one change due to unforeseen circumstances on my mom's part; and they were very upfront with that. I feel like she could not have gotten any better care. I also feel like the family could not have had any better care. They were very sensitive to our family's grief for an unexpected passing of a loved one. Prior to meeting with the funeral home, I was warned about funeral homes, in general, trying to upsell families on what was already planned by the deceased. I can honestly and happily say that such things never took place. For example, my mom did not want to have flowers unless they were sent by others. They didn't have to tell us that. In our grief, they could have sold us anything; but they didn't. They were honest and extremely helpful; and I am extremely grateful, and I know my family is as well.
