edna ceran
Edna L. “Blondie” Ceran, 84, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 in Carolinas HealthCare System Pineville, Charlotte, NC. Born November 3, 1932, in Weirton, WV, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Daisy Ross Calder. She was also preceded in death by her husband Dragan Ceran in 2007 and sister Mary G. Bish and brother Milton R. Calder. Edna’s greatest joy in life was caring for her husband and children and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchild and extended family of neighbors and friends. She especially enjoyed doing so at her rural residence, the family farm in Baileys Mills, Ohio and at Seneca Lake. As a young woman she enjoyed oil painting, dancing and singing to popular music. Naturally athletic, she enjoyed tennis, water skiing, bowling and pick-up baseball games while entertaining on weekends. Quick to assist family and friends should the need ever arise, her gracious and winsome persona belied a fierce competitive nature that made her one of ‘The Greatest Generations” best representatives… Edna is survived by son Michael Phillip Ceran (Bonnie) of Fort Mill, SC; and daughters Tanya Lynn Musler (Jeffrey) of Charlotte, NC, and Cynthia Elaine Ferrari (Richard) of Weirton; grandchildren Cameron Phillip Musler, Tess Elaine Ferrari, Michael Phillip Ceran II, Parker Edward Musler, Jake Dragan Ferrari, Brandi Michelle Hunt (Jason) and great granddaughter Caitlyn Anne Hunt. Visitation will be Friday 6-8 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, with additional visitation on Saturday 10 until the 11 AM funeral service at Cove Presbyterian Church, 3404 Main Street, Weirton. Reverend Dr. James E. Rudiger will officiate. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 1299 Pineview Drive #3, Morgantown, WV 26505

  1. Blondie was my second mom through my high school years. She was always so sweet and happy to see me. I spent many nights at their house with Cindy and loved every minute of it. She was a special person and I think of her often with a smile. Love to all the incredible Cerans.

  2. Mike / Tanya,

  5. I am so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God’s sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29) Those who are raised to life will have the prospect of never again being subject to misery, sickness, or death. (Revelation 21:4) I hope that reflecting on these thoughts will give you some relief during this difficult time.
