
Richard Vincent Walley, Sr.

Richard Vincent Walley, Sr., 83, of Tampa, FL formerly of Weirton, WV passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, FL. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth "Marge" Kelchak Walley who passed away in 2007. He was born on November 2, 1929 in Carnegie, PA a son of the late Paul and Pauline Musiol Walley. Richard was also preceded in death by a brother Paul Walley and a sister Lillian Sirback.
With 37 years of service, Mr. Walley retired from Weirton Steel Corporation, where he was a pipe coverer. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years, Moose Lodge 688, Evert Maki American Legion Post 10, WSX 25 year club, WSX bowling league. He was also an avid bowler, gardner, tee ball and little league baseball coach, assistant coach to his wife who coached a title winning girls softball team. He was also a successful bowler who held a number of team and singles city wide champion titles. Mr. Walley was a former Boy Scout Leader at St. Paul's Church and was an avid freshwater fisherman.
He is survived by three sons Richard Walley and companion Alexandra Diaz of Tampa, FL., Patrick Walley and companion Tara Stiles of Lakeland, FL and William Deerfield of San Diego, CA; a sister Evelyn Phillips of Weirton.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12noon until the 1 PM Memorial Mass at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 140 Walnut St. Weirton.
Reverend Father Larry Dorsch as celebrant.

The Walley family were good neighbors on Hillcrest Road…….good family……good children. They are missed. Peace be with you!
