zachary himmelrick

Zachary Andrew Himmelrick, 27, of Weirton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Born on Easter Sunday, April 12, 1998, in Steubenville, Ohio, Zachary was the second of two children born to Martin Andrew and Danita Burnetta Himmelrick.

Zachary was raised in Weirton, WV, where he attended Saint Paul’s Grade School and later attended Weirton Madonna High School. His school years were filled with meaningful friendships, most notably with his best friend and soulmate, Ryan, whom he met in fifth grade. Together, they embarked on many adventures, including enlisting in the United States Army. Although Zachary was honorably discharged due to medical reasons, his spirit of service and loyalty never wavered.

A man who loved the open road, Zachary found his calling behind the wheel of a motorcycle or truck.

Earning his CDL, he most recently worked for Atlantic Recovery in Wintersville, Ohio, driving the night shift. Truck driving wasn’t just a job for Zachary—it was a passion that brought him a sense of freedom and pride.

Zachary’s interests were as bold and vibrant as his personality. Whether he was riding his motorcycles, tearing through trails on his dirt bikes and quads, or tinkering with his cars and trucks, he always had grease on his hands and a smile on his face. He enjoyed watching The Simpsons and had a legendary sense of humor, often using sarcasm and a playful mischievousness to bring laughter to those around him.

Zachary’s heart was rooted in his family. He was a devoted son, brother, fiancé, and father. His love for his fiancée, Melynda Griffin, and their sons, Spencer (age 3) and Colt Silas (5 months), was immeasurable. He cherished every moment with them. His bond with his mother and sister will be eternal.

Sadly, Zachary was preceded in death by his father, Martin “Marty” Himmelrick (2006), his grandparents Carol and Tony Pietranton.
He will be remembered with love, and deeply missed by his mother, Danita Burnetta Himmelrick, and her partner James Siudak; his fiancée, Melynda Griffin; his two sons, Spencer and Colt Silas; and his sister, Taylor S. Himmelrick; many aunts and uncles including Donna Burnetta Thomas, and his adopted Pap, Bob Tennant.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton.
