Marcia Helen Kobily, 78, of Weirton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the Allegheny General Hospital.
Born in Steubenville, OH, on December 13, 1946, she was the only daughter of Joseph and Helen (Souchak) Kovalik. Marcia was a 1964 graduate of Follansbee High School.
On May 4, 1968, she married the love of her life, Raymond Kobily. Together, they shared 57 beautiful years of marriage. Marcia dedicated many years of service to the Hancock County School System, where she worked in the Clerical Department until her retirement. During her career, she held the distinguished position of President of the School Service Personnel.
Marcia was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. Her friends and family were the cornerstones of her life.
She shared a special bond with her daughter, Denise, and the two could often be found shopping, creating lasting memories through their shared love of discovering the perfect outfit. Marcia adored her grandsons and took immense pride in their lives, showering them with unconditional love.
She cherished family time, especially trips to Virginia to visit her brother and family vacations to the beach with her loved ones. She also loved to host all family holidays at her home. Marcia is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Raymond Kobily, daughter Denise (Paul) Pownall, all of Weirton, brothers Richard Kovalik and his companion Jovi Balazo, of Newport News, VA, and Robert Kovalik of Weirton, and grandsons Patrick and Joshua McDonald.
Marcia’s request for cremation will be honored.
She will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, 26062.
A Celebration of Marcia’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
