Cathy Leburta Morris, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully after her courageous battle with breast cancer at Valley Hospice Care Center North on July 23, 2025, at the age of 68. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 20, 1956, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Cathy was a 1974 graduate of Lumberport High School. She dedicated over 28 years of her life to serving as a nurse aide at Catherine’s Care Center, where her compassion and selfless nature touched the lives of countless residents and their families.

Cathy was a woman of unwavering faith, placing her trust in the Lord as her source of strength. She devoted her life to caring for others, often prioritizing the needs of her family and friends above her own.

Throughout her life, Cathy nurtured and supported her siblings, embodying the values instilled in her during her upbringing—values of love and mutual support. Her greatest treasures were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished with all of her heart.

She is preceded in death by her mother Emma Poling, Great-grandson, Gunner Poplowski, and sister, Julie Williams.

Cathy leaves behind a legacy of love, reflected in her cherished relationship with her family. She is survived by her son Thomas (Toni) Morris Jr., her daughter Angie (William) Poplowski; grandchildren, Austin Morris, William Poplowski, Jr., Ashley Poplowski, Aliyah Morris, Gavin Morris, Aiden Morris, and Hailey Morris; as well as her great-grandchildren, Axel Morris, Skylar Morris, Hunter Poplowski, and Mariah Morris. Her siblings also survive her: John (Penny) Williams, Timothy Williams, Betty Jo (Burke) Powell, Sue (Bill) Higgins, Juanita (Matt), Ferrell, and Emmalee Williams, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

To honor Cathy’s life, a public viewing will take place at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. 26062 on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her 1:00 p.m. funeral service.

Graveside service will follow immediately in Union Cemetery.

Pastor John Kotsanos will officiate.
