Karen Ann Leyda

Karen Ann Stoica Leyda, 73, of Weirton, passed away on September 27, 2025, at Valley Hospice Care Center North.

She was born on March 3, 1952, in Steubenville, OH, to Michael and Laverne Golden Stoica, Sr.

Karen graduated from Weir High School in 1970 and later attended Carlow College in Pittsburgh.

Over the years, she developed skills in floral design and candy making, and she operated an online business selling candy and purses.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Larry Lee Leyda, who passed away on September 19, 2025.

Surviving are her brother, Michael Stoica, Jr. of Chester; nephew, Joshua (Kelly) Stoica; niece, Carrie Stoica Snelling; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory in Weirton. She and her husband will be inurned at Oak Grove Cemetery alongside her parents.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
