Michael Anthony Morse, 71, of Weirton, West Virginia, formerly of Florida, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 6, 2026. Although Michael had been courageously battling cancer, his passing came as a tremendous shock.
Born on August 17, 1954, in Long Beach California, Michael spent much of his life in Florida. He honorably served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. Following his military service, Michael dedicated more than 30 years of his career as a laborer before retiring.
One of many blessings of Michael’s life was the love he shared with his wife and best friend, Dennetia Tenaglio Morse. The two met, fell in love, and knew almost immediately they were meant to spend their lives together. They were married on March 29, 2008, just one month after meeting.
Michael will be remembered with love by his wife, Dennetia Tenaglio Morse; his daughter, Kimberly Morse; his son, Stephen Michael Morse; his three brothers, Randall , Kirk, and Kenneth his four grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; his stepson, Duke Mozingo and his wife, Sarah; and last but not least his lifelong best friend Merrell. They have been best friends since birth
In addition to his parents Edward Lewis Morse and Barbara Evelyn Weaver Morse, Michael was preceded in death by his two brothers; David and Wayne Morse.
Michael will be cremated at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home’s crematory, and his cremated remains will be placed at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with military honors.

You will always hold a special place in my heart as my “favorite brother-in-law“.. I’ll miss your warm smile, your quick wit, and the thoughtfulness you showed to everyone around you. Thank you for loving my sister with your whole heart. Thank you for always making our family gatherings brighter. And thank you for putting up with me all these years – we both know that wasn’t always an easy job!
Most importantly, thank you for the imprint you left on my heart. I will always treasure the love, laughter, and memories we shared. You were deeply loved, and you’ll be deeply missed, but you will never be forgotten.
