Agnes Marie Jones

Agnes Marie Jones, 84, of Weirton, died Sunday July 7, 2002 at Heritage Place in Weirton. She was born on April 3, 1918 in Weirton, a daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie (Zielinski) Sparks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Jones, Sr.; one son, John Jacob Jones; and two sisters, Mary Sinichko and Ann Smercansky. Agnes owned and operated the Agnes Beauty Shop in Weirton for 30 years. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Christian Mothers, and the Dorothy Nau Memorial Choir. Agnes is survived by three sons, Timothy Jones (Cathy) of Ormond Beach, FL, Thomas Jones, Jr. (Debbie) of Stanton, KY, and Michael Jones (Donna) of Winchester, KY; two daughters, Mrs. George (Rose) Stunda of Weirton, and Mrs. Jack (Agnes) Roseberry of New Cumberland, WV; three sisters, Catherine Chant of Quartz Hill, CA, Phyllis Reischman of Bakersfield, CA, and Theresa Sparks of Baltimore, MD; twenty grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a Parish and Christian Mothers Rosary Service will be held 7:30 PM Tuesday. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday at the St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church followed by burial at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
