Mary Ann Sweda

Mary Ann Sweda, 80, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born March 12, 1923 in Weirton, WV, a daughter of the late Guiseppe Ballato and Rose (Napoli) Ballato. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pete Sweda; two brothers, Ross and Frank Ballato; and one sister, Sarah Warzynski. Mary Ann was a lifelong resident of Weirton, a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, St. Joseph Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America, Four Seasons, and A.A.R.P. She is survived by her son, David J. Sweda and his wife Rebecca of Culpeper, VA; two grandchildren, Jason Sweda and his wife Rebecca of Durham, NC and Jennifer Sweda of Oakton, VA; one brother, Sam Ballato and his wife Norita; and three sisters, Rose Buelich and her husband Joe, Nancy Yakunich and her husband Lou, and Virginia Ballato. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Weirton. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
