Monica Lynn Will, 46, of Moundsville, West Virginia, tragically passed away on October 1, 2026. She was born on August 21, 1980, in Steubenville, Ohio, and was raised in Weirton, West Virginia.
Monica devoted her life to education and to the people she loved. For 21 years, she was a beloved English teacher at John Marshall High School, where she cherished her students and took great pride in making a difference in their lives. Her classroom was not simply a place of learning—it was a place where students were encouraged, supported, and valued. She touched countless lives throughout her career and will be remembered by many as a teacher who truly cared.
A proud graduate of Weir High School, Monica graduated in 1998 as Salutatorian. She continued her education at West Liberty University, where she majored in English Education and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002. She later attended Marshall University, earning her master’s degree with a specialization in Shakespearean Literature where she graduated first in her class.
Monica married her husband, Duane David Will Jr., on June 24, 2006. Together, they built a family that meant everything to her and were blessed with two children, Makaela Morgan Will, 16, and Seth Nicholas Will, 14. Monica was a devoted mother and wife, and her family was at the center of her life. She treasured every moment with them and worked tirelessly to create a loving home filled with memories.
Monica also had a deep love for photography. She had a special gift for capturing the moments that mattered, always seeking to preserve memories of the people and experiences she loved. Through her photographs, countless precious moments will continue to live on.
Monica was a devoted Christian. She was raised in the First Church of the Nazarene and later became an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was a worship leader as well as a part of their church vestry. Her faith was an important part of who she was and guided the way she lived her life and cared for others.
She was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and valued the friendships and fellowship she found through her involvement.
Monica was preceded in death by her husband, Duane David Will Jr.; her grandparents, Mustafa “Mickey” Mallas and Janice Evagean Mallas, and John James Queses and Erma Queses; and her mother-in-law, Brenda Will.
She leaves behind her greatest treasures, her children, Makaela Morgan Will and Seth Nicholas Will; her parents, Nicholas Spero Queses and Bonnie Lynn Queses; her sister, Erica Dawn Bennett (Jason); nieces Josafina Charisma Bennett and Alayna Lynn Bennett; nephew Landon Nicholas Bennett; father-in-law Duane David Will Sr.; aunts and uncles Nina and Monty Mallas and Christy and Charlie Hanlon; and many cousins whom she loved dearly.
Monica will be remembered for her intelligence, compassion, dedication, faith, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy not only through her children and family, but also through the countless students whose lives she touched during her 21 years as an educator.
Though her time with us was far too short, the memories Monica so lovingly captured through her photography—and the memories she created in the hearts of those who knew and loved her—will remain forever.
Her life was a gift, her love was a blessing, and her memory will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.

So sorry for your loss.
Sending my Deepest Condolences 💐 to the family and friends of Mrs Will.
Monica was not just someone I knew—she was someone whose life was connected to my own from growing up together in church. Knowing that she and David were taken from this world in such a sudden and tragic way is heartbreaking beyond words.
I wish I could take away even a small part of the pain you are carrying. I know there are no explanations that can make this right, and I would never pretend that a few words could make this hurt less. I simply want you to know that you are loved, you are being prayed for, and you do not have to walk through this grief alone.
I am praying that in the days when the grief feels unbearable, God will surround you with His presence and give you strength for one moment at a time. I am praying for the memories of Monica and David to eventually bring moments of comfort alongside the tears.
The Bible tells us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” (Psalm 34:18) I hope that you feel that closeness now more than ever.
Monica and David will not be forgotten. Their lives mattered. Their love mattered. And the people who loved them will carry their memories forward.
With love and deepest sympathy,
Trella
Sending my sympathy and prayers to Nick, Bonnie and family at the tragic loss of Monica & David. May Our Lord provide you with comfort and peace at this tragic loss.

As her elementary principal I am heartbroken over this tragic story. Monica was a wonderful, caring and loving student. She loved education and could not have had better role models than her parents Nick and Bonnie. I have no doubt that she was a teacher and mother beyond all expectations. Janet and I offer our deepest sympathy. We are in Florida now but will be praying for tis beautiful family.
Monica and I were best friends since middle school when we were both in band together playing clarinet. I looked up to her since she was light years better than I was. We had a prank war in high school. We made sure to take a photo together at events in middle school and high school. She was one of the smartest and confident people that I knew. There wasn’t anything that she could do. She had tremendous faith in Christ. We stayed in contact during and after college. She was always a sounding board for me to bounce ideas off of. Every time I came back to town we will get together. When I met David for the first time I knew that he would be her better half since he adored her and was the perfect gentleman. We would all talk over the years and catch up on how our families were doing. When she began teaching I knew that she had found her calling since she had a passion for teaching and guiding the younger generation. When they became parents, they adored their kids. Monica would constantly say what new things they were doing and shared how proud she was of both of them. Then when me and my wife started our family, Monica was overjoyed. When I lost my father, Monica had checked in to see how I was doing. She was a guiding light and one of the most caring and positive person that I knew. She was the best friend that a person could have.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr and Mrs Queses, Erica , Makaela, Seth, the whole Queses and Will families as well as everyone that was honored to be in their lives. We lost two of the best people here but God gained two more angels in heaven.
I met Monica when she first started teaching at Cameron High School. She even invited me to her beautiful wedding. I also knew her through EasterStar which was very important to her. Iam so very sorry for her ,David especially the children, her parents and the entire family. Iam praying for all. Especially the children.
I wish there was something I could do for these wonderful, beautiful people.. I can only pray-pray that God wraps His loving arms around them and touches them with His healing hands to lift some of their grief and heartache. I love you, Bonnie.
