Patricia Lou Rodriguez Olenick, 76, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Valley Hospice Care Center North. Born in New Cumberland, WV, on November 7, 1948, she was one of seventeen children to William and Sarah Glover Anderson.
Patricia devoted much of her life to caring for others. A Certified Nursing Assistant for many years, she brought compassion and comfort to countless patients. She also worked diligently at Weirton Medical Center in the Housekeeping Department, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for all.
An avid Bingo and card player, Patricia could often enjoy games throughout the Ohio Valley or engage in spirited competition at her siblings’ homes. Her love of visiting local casinos, especially Wheeling Island, earned her the affectionate title of “High Roller” within her family. Outspoken and strong-willed, Patricia was never afraid to share her opinions—solicited or not.
A woman of faith, she nurtured her spiritual life in many ways. Patricia played a motherly role to her siblings, caring for them and teaching life lessons, often without them realizing. Her love extended to her animals, particularly her beloved dogs.
Patricia was a true homemaker at heart, finding joy in cooking, cleaning, and cherishing family gatherings, whether for birthdays, anniversaries, or just because. She never missed an opportunity to listen to a Conway Twitty or Loretta Lynn song, and her love of music was only rivaled by her passion for bowling, walking the Panhandle Trail, and embracing life as a homebody.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and countless cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Rodriguez and Joseph Olenick, and brothers Virgil, Frank, and Rodger Anderson, sisters Linda Anderson and Delphia Anderson Miller, brothers-in-law, Rodney Kukich, Tim Miller and Teddy Truax, sisters-in-law Norma Anderson and Charlotte Anderson, and adopted son she cared for, John Stewart.
Left to cherish her memory with love and admiration are her sons, Raymond (Rachel) Rodriguez of Toronto, Richard Rodriguez, and Arthur (Stacey) Rodriguez all of Weirton, grandchildren Megan (Josh) Reed, Ricky Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez, Nina (Ryan) Lazear, Ryan Rodriguez, and Chase Rodriguez, great-grandchildren, Levi Rodriguez, Aiden Reed and Royce Lazear, brothers Carl Anderson of Missouri, Tannie (Kathy) Anderson, Owen (Diana) Anderson, Tommie (Jody) Anderson, sisters Billie Kukich, Lynn (James) Dodd, Frances (George) Staats, Kathy (Brian) Hans, Sarah Hans, Nekoa Truax, Nina (Jay) Pederson, and loved by her many nieces and nephews, and adopted daughter whom she cared for, Wilma Baugh.
