Renee Williamson, 73, of Chester, WV, a loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away on October 13, 2025.
Born on July 17, 1952, in Steubenville, Ohio, Renee was a daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Williamson.
In addition to her parents, Renee was preceded in death by her brother, David Durkin.
A graduate of Weir High School, class of 1970, Renee worked as a custodian at Upper St. Clair School District.
Renee was a woman of faith, deeply involved with her church and the friendships she made there. She could often be found sharing laughter and good company with her church friends. Known for her strong will and unique independence, her family lovingly remarked that she was “a bit stubborn,” never one to ask for help. But those who knew her well understood that beneath this resilience lay a heart that overflowed with compassion and generosity. Renee often sponsored families for Christmas and baked dozens of Christmas cookies from scratch for her loved ones, embodying the spirit of giving.
Renee’s interests painted a vibrant picture of her life. She had a special fondness for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, as well as WVU football, and her enthusiasm for life was highlighted by her treasured memories of a cruise to the Bahamas and visits to Amish country. One of her ultimate dreams was fulfilled when she had the opportunity to visit Disney World, where she met Mickey Mouse, a moment that captured her childlike wonder.
Renee will be remembered with love by her twin daughters, Stephanie Wilfong and Stacey Wilfong and her fiancée Mike Grohowski; her brother Thomas (Donna) Durkin, her sister Gwen (Bill) Haspel; her beloved granddaughter Kayla Walusek; and her fur babies, Minnie, Tanner and Roxie.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Parish 418 4th Street Chester, WV 26034.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM located at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Parish 418 4th Street Chester, WV 26034

Renee will be sadly missed by a lot of people. I will miss her texts to me asking about what channel the Pirates or Steelers are on or what the score was.
We texted frequently . She loved her dogs so much and was a great pet mom.
May she Rest in Peace ❤️
Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord, and may the perpetual light shine upon her.
