albert contumelio
Albert F. Contumelio, 73, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 in the Greenery Specialty Care Center, Canonsburg, PA. Born February 6, 1938 in Weirton, he was the son of the late Luigi and Angela Pate Contumelio. He was also preceded in death by his sister Rosina Guglielmo. With 28 years of service, Mr. Contumelio retired from Starvaggi Industries, where he was general superintendent of the entire shop floor. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3734, and BPOE 1801. In his youth, Albert was an amateur race car driver. He was extraordinarily mechanically inclined and was a recipient of multiple credentials from the General Motors Training Center in Monroeville. When he was not fixing something or tending to his garden, Albert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Angela Porco Contumelio, whom he married on May 2, 1964; sons John, Frank, and Michael Contumelio all of Weirton, Ronald and his wife Jamin Contumelio of Saint George, UT; one grandson Daniel Contumelio; brother Alfred and his wife Gloria Contumelio of Paris, PA; sisters Mary Magnone and Josephine and her husband Robert DeFelice all of Weirton. Friends will be received 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited 6 PM Tuesday, in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
