Alfred Joseph Bulkowski
February 25, 1919 ~ November 30, 2005
Alfred Joseph Bulkowski, 86, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Born February 25, 1919 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna Zamana Bulkowski. Alfred was also preceded in death by his sister Stella Martin and brother Walter J. Bulkowski.
With 31 years of service, Alfred retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a Cold Mill Millwright in the Strip Steel Department. He was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Weirton, the WSX 25-Year Club, American Legion Post 10 and the VFW Post 2716. He served with the Seabees in the US Navy during World War II. Alfred and his wife Marjorie took great pleasure in traveling with their niece, Karen.
In addition to his wife Marjorie (Bixler) Bulkowski of Weirton whom he married June 21, 1944, Alfred is survived by his nephews John Barry Martin and Keith Weekly and nieces Loretta Cummings, Karen Doderick Watson, Lois Hansen, Geraldine Suk and Becky Slater.
Visitation will be held Friday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10AM-10:45AM at the funeral home prior to the 11AM funeral services at the Resurrection Lutheran Church with Pastor Bethel Bateson presiding. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and VFW Honor Guard.
