Alice C. Younciak

Alice C. Younciak, 85, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 at her son’s home in Follansbee, WV. Born July 12, 1923 in New Cumberland, WV, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Olive Clark Loy. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry E. Younciak, Sr. on June 11, 2004, daughter Diana Younciak in 1970 and brother Richard Loy.
Mrs. Younciak was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and the lottery. The most special times were spent while on vacation with her family.
Alice is survived by her sons Henry “Ed” Younciak, Jr. and his wife Beth of Weirton and Jeffrey Younciak and his wife Kathy of Follansbee; daughter Marsha Davidson and her husband Brad of Burgettstown, PA; sister Eleanor Polgar of Weirton; 8 grandchildren Angie, Tom, Kim, Justin, Cody, Shawn, Kayla and Brandon and two great-grandchildren Conner and Kadence.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Tony Thurston will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.

You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mom. She was a gentle, lovely woman who always had a smile for everyone. I loved seeing her in church with you Ed and always attempted to catch her before you left so I could give her a hug. I was coming from the choir at the front church so I wasn’t always successful because she was so quick! I will miss her greatly. If I can be of help, please let me know.
