Alma Esteline “Esty” Kondus passed away peacefully at her home on April 17, 2022, in Venice, Florida, under the loving and watchful eyes of her husband John and her daughter Sharon. Esty was born on December 17, 1934, to Ray C. and Olive Powers White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Patrick L. Anderson; brothers Glenn, Robert, Arley, Roger, Ercile, and Charles (Junior); sisters Ardella White, Garnet Gillespie, and Cora Mae Vasquez. Esty is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Kondus; her daughter Sharon Anderson; sons Bucky (Betsy) Anderson and Tom (Jenny) Anderson; her grandsons, Justin (Mary) Anderson and Aaron (Lisa) Anderson; her great-grandson Henry Anderson. Her brothers Bill (Diane) White and Ronald (Duska) White and Sisters Emily (Roger) Hennen and Josephine Cartwright along with several nieces and nephews. Esty was born in Hundred WV and moved to Weirton in 1952. She has resided in Venice Florida for the past 30 years. She was a member of the All-Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Weirton, WV, the Daughters of Penelope, and the Philotho Society. She was the chairperson for several years of the All-Saints Thanksgiving Gift Baskets and the All-Saints Festival Bake Sale. Esty loved baking (the best baklava) and cooking (the best homemade noodles). Friends and relatives will be received Sunday, 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Monday from 12:30 PM until the 1:30 PM service at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton. The Reverend Father Frank A. Milanese will officiate. Interment will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Tidewell Hospice for their five months of care in Florida.
