Alma Przybysz, 94, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Weirton, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 in Liza’s Place Care Center South, Wheeling, WV. A daughter of the late Bernard A. and Katherine Altman Petrak, Alma was born on April 30, 1924, in Tarentum, PA. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband William S. Przybysz, Sr. on December 20, 2000; her son, Dr. Thomas Przybysz in 2018; her grandson, Joseph Kobily in 2014; her four sisters, Catherine McGough, Mary Iwanski, Leona Barnett, and her twin sister, Marcella Ruscillo; and her brother, Bernard Petrak. A graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Alma worked as a Registered Nurse at the former Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville, OH. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the Knights of Columbus 3734 Auxiliary. She will be remembered with love by her three sons, William S. (Rose) Przybysz, Jr. of Williamsburg, VA, Dr. John (Lauri) Przybysz of Severna Park, MD and Francis B. (Kerry) of Wheeling, WV; her three daughters, Carole M. (Jeff) Smay of Wheeling, WV, Catherine (Mark) Caranda of Weirton, WV, and Mary E. Kobily of Carnegie, PA; her daughter-in-law Kathy Przybysz of Wheeling; her sister, Dorothy Miller of Midland, TX; 28 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren, with 2 more great grandchildren on the way. Friends will be received Thursday 1 – 4 and 6 – 9 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church 229 California Avenue Weirton, WV, with Alma’s grandson, Rev. Father Martin J. Smay and Reverend Father Dennis R. Schuelkens, Jr. presiding. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.   1. I always enjoyed visiting with Alma when our family was invited to the Przybysz’s special gatherings, such as baptisms, weddings and holidays. She will be missed. She had a special, kind presence about her. She’s in the arms of Jesus now.

Oh Carol,Cathy and all your families, I was sad to read about your moms passing but immediately could see her smiling face when she would come to get her hair cut.She would proudly announce that it was time to cleanup her neckline because the flow bee wouldn’t get those little hairs! I loved doing that small but important service for her because she always had positive great stories about the family. She will be truly missed!!!!
