Alwilda Susan ''Susie'' Brecht

Alwilda Susan “Susie” Brecht, 79, of Weirton, died Sunday, December 30, 2001, at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born January 18, 1922 in Weirton, a daughter of the late Bert and Emma Gasgaeb Flowers. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John N. Flowers. Alwilda was a homemaker and was Baptist by faith. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James O. Brecht of Weirton, whom she married October 18, 1946; two sons, David R. Brecht and his wife Terri of Fresno, TX, and Brian J. Brecht and his wife Michele of New Cumberland, WV; two daughters, Barbara M. Brown and Mrs. Anthony (Pamela L.) Babiak, both of Weirton; a brother, Joseph “Elmer” Flowers of Weirton; two sisters, Dorothy Sejda of Weirton, and Clarice Macklin of Elm Grove, WV; and six grandchildren, James A. Babiak, Jacob Brecht, Joseph Brecht, Jason Brecht, Kimberly Brown, and Leslie Brecht. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday, January 1, 2002, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday with the Rev. Kregg F. Burris officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
