Ann Gillette of Wilmette, IL, formerly of Weirton, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Mather Pavilion in Evanston, IL. Ann was born on July 25, 1917 in Mingo Junction, OH, the daughter of the late Theodore and Milka Mrvos. Ann was a 1936 graduate of Weir High School. During World War II, she worked in the Weirton Steel lab. On June 16, 1940, she married Raymond G. Gillette, who passed away on January 4, 1988. In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was preceded in death by her brothers Robert (Buzzy) and George (Chuck) Mrvos. Ann was a member of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Church in Steubenville, OH and was a lifetime member of the K.S.S. Vidovdan. She was well known for her baking skills and loved cooking for her family, friends and church. She is survived by her three loving sons, Ray and his wife Susan of Wilmette, IL, with whom she made her home for the last five years, Ted and his wife Pam of Ashland, VA and Fred of Weirton and grandchildren Elizabeth, Alex, Maggie and Lindsay. Friends will be received Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 1-3PM and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where Pomen services will be held at 7:30PM. Funeral services will be celebrated 11AM Monday in the funeral home with The Very Reverend Father Rade Merick officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Resurrection Serbian Church, 528 North 4th Street, Steubenville, OH 43952.
