anthony orecchio, sr.
Anthony 'Fats' Orecchio, Sr., 75, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at his home. Born July 3, 1929 in Weirton, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Maria Rosa Perrino Orecchio. Anthony was also preceded in death by his wife Sara Frances (Haskins) Orecchio on March 8, 1986; brother Joseph and sisters Mary Rocchio and Minnie Eafrati. Anthony was a retired steel worker and worked as a Battery Foreman in the Coke Plant. From 1985-1990, he served as Hancock County Superintendant of Highways. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 3734, WSX 25-Year Club, WSX Management Club and the Brotherhood of the Grape. Anthony’s survivors include his sons Donald Goysovich and his wife Debbie of Bridgeville, PA, Richard Goysovich, Sr. of Weirton, John Orecchio and his wife Toni of Highland Heights, OH and Anthony Orecchio, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Bridgeville, PA; daughter Mary Lou Pietranton and her husband Eric of New Cumberland; brother John Orecchio of Weirton; sisters Angie Paolo and Connie Bennett both of Weirton and Roseanne Relotto of Steubenville, OH; 11 grandchildren Elizabeth Newhouse, Carol Rowser, Dawn Trushel, Richard,(Richie) Jr., Michael, Susan, and Andrew Goysovich, Grace and Samuel Orecchio, Frank and Erica Pietranton; 3 great grandchildren Ariana, Jonathan and Sarah Newhouse. The family will receive friends Wednesday 7-9PM and 2-4 and 7-9PM Thursday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Ron Getsinger presiding. Interment will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Weirton.
