  1. Mrs. Torchio thank you so much for choosing me to take care of your husband Mr. Torchio. It’s been an honor to be apart of a very special family that appreciated me and taught me so much. The most important lesson that I’ve learned was to enjoy life! Torch enjoyed the fellowship of his family and friends. I’ve never been a stranger and he excepted me and my family with open arms. I’m so happy that I got to take him to the Boxing match one last time , I will never forget the smile on his face when we entered Mountaineer. It’s the little things that means alot to me. I will charish the time that I got to spend with him. I’ve found a new family that I Love very much and Torch will be missed dearly by me and my family. If there is anything at all at any time of the day , please call me and I will be there.

  2. My sisters and I lived at the Communnity Center and fondly remember so many things that Torch was involved with, from roller skating on the gym floor (He paid me to clean the wheels on the skates) to the huge Santa Claus out in front when he used to pass out the bags of candy. Weirton has lost a special man, and I would like to send my deepest sympathy to his family along with heartfelt thanks for all that he meant to my hometown. God speed, Torch! Tom Reed Weir High Class of ’62

  5. Mrs. Torchio & Family, My deepest sympathy to all. Torch was a wonderful man and I know he will be missed. One of the memories I have of Torch is when he was Director at the Community Center and they had the annual Children’s Halloween party, and they gave out treat bags. Well, the very next day Torch would send over a treat bag to all of us ladies at the City Building. He was a sweetheart. You are in my prayers. Bertha J Simich

  6. To the family of Anthony Torchio, Those of us who grew up in Weirton had some kind of association with “Torchio”. I was home some years ago and saw him at Krogers – we talked for a long time. As a kid I had issues with him, as a adult I had a great deal of respect for him. We made up. (smile) He will be missed. A Blast From the Past! Bob Kelley

  7. Mrs. Torchio, Our lives are a precious gift from God. Your husband shared his life with countless others and brought joy to many adults and children. Those who knew him were truly blessed. I pray that you find comfort in the knowledge that your husband is with God. Carolee and Dan, My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Carolee – you were blessed with many happy years with your father. He was a good man and your life is a wonderful testimony to him. Although there is now an emptiness in your heart, I hope that you find comfort in knowing that he is in Heaven watching over you, your mom, your sister and your families. Both you and Dan were an inspiration to me; something that I am certain that you learned from both your father and mother. God bless, Christine Emery

  8. Dear Mary, Carolee and family, I am so sorry to hear about Torch. I’m sorry I didn’t get down to the funeral home. May it help to know others are thinking of you and praying for your family. Shirley

  9. Anthony was a gift to us, and will be missed. God be with you Mary & family as you mourn your loss. Am sure you have more than a few memories to bring a smile to your faces! Requiescat In Pace.

  10. Mary&family: My sympathies. I enjoyed serving as a Dept Head from the library with Torch from 72-83; his good humor helped lighten the work we shared serving the people of Weirton. Fred Natale
