Although she stated she could never give up, Barbara Ann Baker, 46, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 09, 2006 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 30, 1959 in Weirton, she was the daughter of Peter and Charlotte White Thomas of Colliers, WV. She attended the Colliers Nazarene Church and worked as a Pharmacy Tech for Arnas Pharmacy in Steubenville. Barbara was an excellent cook but really enjoyed family time at the beach in Hilton Head, SC. In addition to her parents, Barbara is survived by her husband Howard “Spike” Baker of Steubenville whom she married June 7, 1998; daughter Melissa Dawn Truax of Sandusky, Ohio; step-daughter Christine Nicole Trautman and her husband Jim of Beaver Falls, PA; step-son Thomas Edward Baker of Weirton; sisters Carol Ludewig of Weirton and Mary Bolner of Follansbee, WV; mother and father-in-law Lester and Lillian Baker of Letter Gap, WV and granddaughter Cheyenna Nicole Trautman of Beaver Falls, PA. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11AM. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV. Memorial contributions may be sent to Valley Hospice, 380 Summit Avenue, Steubenville, OH 43952.
