Barbara Zoe Thompson

Barbara Zoe Thompson, 85, of Colliers, WV, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 in the Weirton Medical Center. She was born April 17, 1934 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Francis Michael and Anna Elizabeth Clifton Lutz. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Thompson in 2012, brother Dan Lutz and sisters Marcella Roush and Lorna Armbruster.
Barbara was a cashier for Joanne Fabrics and a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family and helping anyone in their time of need.
She is survived by her sons Jeffrey Thompson of Waldorf, MD, Scott (Terri) Thompson of Colliers and Gregory (Leona) Thompson of Morgantown, WV; daughter Pamela (Donald) Lizon of Wellsburg; grandchildren Meredith Hood, Melissa (Nick) Benges, Jonathan (Alison Sherman) Hood, Allison, Madison, Noah and Joseph Thompson; great grandchildren Annie Norman and Jaxson Benges and sister Cindy (Alvin “Ziggy” Zeigler) Hill of Henryville, PA
Friends will be received Sunday 2-6 pm at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be celebrated at 11am Monday. Reverend Father Anthony G. Thurston will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.

Barb was a fun person. You never knew what she was going to do. When you least expect it she would decide to be silly or she could be serious but she was a dear person that I am Blessed to have gotten to know and love.
My Aunt Barb was the most influential person in my life. She was loving, caring, thoughtful and supportive to me always. I was so blessed and thankful to have had to her in my life.
