Bertha Mae Means

Bertha Mae "Bertie" Means, 84, of Weirton, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 10th, 2013 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born August 20, 1928 in Aliquippa, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Bertha Mae Robbins Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband William G. Means on October 17, 2002, brother Thomas Jenkins, sisters Mildred Courtney and Gloria Jenkins and granddaughter Heather Alberti Williams. Bertie was most known for her love of people and her cooking skills. She was a wonderful homemaker and a creative, talented cook. She shared her love for cooking with her children and passed along her talents. Bertie is survived by her sons Edward R. Townsend, William J. Means and Gary L. (Valerie) Means all of Weirton and Thomas A. (Debbie) Means of Henderson, NV; daughter Linda (Richard) Townsend Alberti of Batesville, AR; grandchildren Ronda (David) Merten, Shawn (Rebeccah) Alberti, Lori (Tom) Winkler, Valerie Shannon (Chuck) Pasche, Stacey Lynn Means, Rick Means, Cristopher Means, Bryan (Francesca) Means and Brianne Means; great-grandchildren Zachary Williams, Kaleb Merten, Christian and Jaden Pasche, Abigail Merten, Ella Winkler and Cayden Means and sisters Delores Riley of Arthurdale, WV, Mary Ellen (Adam) Lynch of Pittsburgh, PA, Ruth DiVincent of Arthurdale, Barbara Reynolds of Cincinnati, OH, Janice (George) Petitte of Morgantown, WV and Beatrice Bacorn of Morgantown. Visitation will be held Friday 5-8PM and Saturday from 12 Noon until the 2PM funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Pastor James Rhodes will preside.
