bette mcelfresh
Bette JoLanna McElfresh, 73, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born August 12, 1939 in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Suzanna Blanar Sutyak. She was also preceded in death by her husband Dean F. McElfresh on March 20, 2000, brother Andy Sutyak and sister Olga Sutyak. Mrs. McElfresh was a homemaker. She was a very active member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church where she served as treasurer of the Ladies Altar Society and recording secretary for the church. She was also active with Boy Scout Troop #64 and, in her free time, loved playing bingo. Bette is survived by her son Dean McElfresh and his wife Michelle of Chester, WV; niece JoLanna (Jack) Herceg and their daughter Jacque (Matt) Visyak. She was a loving "Nan" to grandson Michael (Dawn) McElfresh and granddaughters Shayley and Jordan Mellinger. Friends will be received Friday from 10am until the 12pm Funeral Liturgy at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. The Very Reverend Father Theodore Shomsky will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Weirton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 604 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV 26062.

I am sorry I wasn’t able to be there but since I moved out of town I miss alot of things. I loved your mother and have so many fond memories of her and your father and their involvement in Boy Scouts. Please know that they are together and watching all of us who loved and respected them.
