Betty Jane Barkley, 74, of Weirton, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. She was born July 9, 1929 in Hollidays Cove, WV, daughter of the late Harold and Laura Smith Barnhart. Betty Jane was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Deloyd Barkley on February 16, 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Betty Jane is survived by two sons, Larry and his wife Jane of Weirton and Terry and his wife Pam of Lancaster, OH; two daughters, Laura Samples and her husband Mark of Parkersburg, WV and Maura Williams of Portland, TN; one sister, Ruth Fluharty and her husband Robert of Clinton, MD; and seven grandchildren, Chad Barkley and his wife Karla, Dustin and Merissa Barkley, Amy Barkley Shaffer and her husband John, Amanda and Clayton Samples, and Jennifer Spencer. Friends will be received Thursday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM funeral services at the First Church of the Nazarene, Weirton with Rev. Dana Snodgrass and Rev. Vaughn Davis presiding. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Memorial contributions can be sent to the First Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV 26062.
