Betty Jean Dodson

Betty Jean Dodson, 67, of Follansbee, WV died Sunday April 19, 2009.
She was born on January 7, 1942, at Follansbee, WV, a daughter of the late George D. and Lillian Claypool Dodson. She was also preceded in death her brother Robert Dodson; half brothers, George and William Dodson; her half sisters, Florence Engle and Helen Wells.
Betty is survived by her brother Ken and his wife Theresa Dodson of Weirton, WV; several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton.
Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee.

To Betty’s Family, I was a client of Eve Smith many years ago and became aquainted with Betty. We came to be friends. She was a lonely soul. We went to Ogelbay Park several times. She loved feeding the ducks. She enjoyed it with the excitement of a kid. On other occasions we would go to Wellsburg, get burgers from Dairy Queen and go sit by the river and watch the boats. Or just go to McDonalds. She so appreciated any time we spent together and I did too. When my husband was laid off, I didn’t have a car to make the trip across the river anymore. And when Eve died, I lost track of Betty. She was a blessing in my life. I learned a lot from Betty. Hopefully she is in a happy place where all of her handicaps no longer exists. She will always be remembered fondly and with gratitude, that I was given the gift of knowing her.
To Betty’s Family Betty touch alot of people’s lives in Follansbee especially at Hood’s Pharmacy.She rented off of Mr.Hood for many years. Everyone that work at Hoods Pharmacy thought Betty was a very special person.I try to stop and see Betty each time I made a delivery up at Brightwood Nursing Home,it made Betty very happy knowing that her friends never forgot her.She will greatly missed by all.
