Betty Lou Bickerstaff

Betty Lou Bickerstaff, 84, of Weirton, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 in the Weirton Geriatric Center. A daughter of the late Guy Heater and Pauline Smith Koon, Betty Lou was born August 10, 1934 in Shinnston, WV. In addition to her parents, She was also preceded in death by her adopted father, Harley Koon; her step mother, Viola (Parks) Heater; her husband, Glenn Bickerstaff; her brothers, Larry Koon and Robert Odell Heater; her grandson, Rusty Bitton. Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, watching NASCAR, and the Steelers. She will be remembered with love by her son, James (Karen) Bickerstaff of Roy, Utah; daughters, Donna (Emmett) Cooper of Weirton, and Brenda (Roz Ohler) Bickerstaff of Germanton NC; a brother, Robert Koon; sisters, Carol Boyer; Jeanette (Ken) Lambert, Norma (Richard) Finley and Phyllis (William) Bitner ; six grandchildren , Jennifer Cooper, Staci Bickerstaff, Shane and Tyler Bitton, Shanna (Sam) Aleiwe and Tamiki (John) Mehaffey; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Friends will be received 4- 8 PM Wednesday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday. The Reverend Larry Barkley will officiate. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
