bronko dopudja
Bronko Dopudja, 87, of Chester, formerly of Weirton, passed away Tuesday December 6, 2016 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. Born on April 11, 1929 in Weirton, he was a son of the late Miladin and Mary (Balen) Dopudja. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Carol Bove, an infant son Nicholas Dopudja, five brothers and five sisters. Bronko retired from Wheeling-Pitt Steel after 34 years. He was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends and working with heavy equipment. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Mary (Rojak) Dopudja, his two sons Michael (Tina) Dopudja of North Carolina and Jon (Tina) Dopudja of Chester; grandchildren Brandy, Dylan, Chantz and Autumn; five great-grandchildren; brothers Metro and Duke Dopudja, both of California, and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 12 noon at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. V. Rev. Father Rade Merick will preside. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Bronko's family would like to extend a special thank you and gratitude to Bill and Mary Reed for their heartfelt support and love.
