bruce savinell
Bruce L. Savinell of Weirton passed away peacefully at Trinity West in Steubenville on Saturday, June 5, 2022. He was 73years old. He was born in Steubenville on February 17, 1949, a son of Lawrence and Anne (Smith) Savinell. Bruce was a member of the 1968 graduating class of Steubenville Big Red High School. Following his high school graduation, Bruce proudly served in the United States Air Force, from 1969 to 1972. With over thirty-seven years of service, he retired from Norfolk Southern Railway where he worked as a Trackman. Bruce’s family describes him as a great father, kind-hearted, loving individual, and a jokester, one who enjoyed gossip of any kind. He would offer his help to anyone who asked. You would find him in front of the tv on Monday nights, watching his favorite form of entertainment, professional wrestling. Bruce had many likes, some of those being his love of old cars, his cologne, and shoe collections, but it was well known he enjoyed a delicious meal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Gary Savinell. Remembering Bruce with much love and admiration is his wife Dorothy Gaillas whom he married on June 4, 1988., sister Sharon Savinell of Weirton, step-son George Vacheresse of Wheeling, step-daughter Bridget Vacheresse of Weirton, step-grandchildren Kashmir and Kelsi Vacheresse. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, where services will be conducted Thursday at 11 AM. The American Legion Post 10 and the United States Air Force will provide honors. Pastor James Rhodes will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
