Catherine J. Potts

Catherine J. Potts, 80, of Weirton, died August 28, 2001 at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born on February 1, 1921 in Holiday’s Cove, a daughter of the late Thaddeus M. Wojcik and Julia Orwasky Wojcik. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Potts in 1995; two brothers, Thaddeus Wojcik, Jr., and Richard J. Wojcik; and a grandson, Kevin Powell. Catherine was a homemaker, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was Catholic by faith. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ed (Hazel) Powell, of Weirton; a brother, Donald Wojcik, of Weirton; two sisters, Mrs. James (Eleanor) Karpowicz, of Rocklin, CA, and Mrs. John (Joanne A.) Pucci, of Moorpark, CA; grandchildren, Andy Powell and his wife Darlene, of Steubenville, Gloria Flood and her husband Tom of Damascus, MD, and Teresa Powell, of New Cumberland; and four great grandchildren, Haley Powell, Dylan Powell, Logan Flood, and Rylie Flood. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 AM with Rev. Kregg Burris officiating.
