Cecelia M. Ewing

Cecelia M. Ewing, 78, of Weirton, died Saturday, December 29, 2001, at her home. She was born September 18, 1923, in Weirton, a daughter of the late Dominick and Elvira Como Volpi. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony A. Palumbo in 1981; and two brothers, Anthony and Rudy Volpi. Cecelia retired from the Weirton Medical Center with 23 years of service where she worked as a Supervisor in the business office. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton Medical Center Retirees Association, and the Four Seasons Senior Citizens. Cecelia is survived by her husband, Robert A. Ewing of Weirton; a son, Francis A. Palumbo and his wife JoAnna of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Toni L.) Markowski of Weirton; a stepson, John Ewing and his wife Terri of Follansbee, WV; a stepdaughter, Susan Mackie of Delray Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Damon and Craig Markowski, and Tiffany and Monica Palumbo; and two step grandchildren, Kristen and Jonathon Ewing. Visitation will be 1-3 and 7-9 PM Sunday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton, followed by entombment at St. Paul Cemetery.
