Celeste Christine Gill-Goff, a strong, friendly, and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at her home in Colliers, WV, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 63. Celeste was born in Weirton, WV on February 11, 1958. She lived in the Weirton- Colliers area all of her life and was a laborer at Colliers Steel, Heinz Pet Products, and Stone Container. She also tended bar at numerous bars in Downtown Weirton and was a first-aid instructor with the American Red Cross. In her youthful days, she enjoyed roller skating and swimming and in her adult life, she enjoyed fishing the area’s lakes, rivers, and streams. Most of all, Celeste was the happiest when she was spending time with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for always being there for others in need. She never met a stranger and was usually the life of the party. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Gill Weaver West in 2006, her brother, Terry Lee Gill in 2002; her maternal grandparents, James and Mabel Hayes Gill; and her brother-in-law, William Smiar. She will be remembered with love by her daughter, Renee Michelle (Brian) Coen; her grandchildren, Hunter Lee and Tucker Allen Coen; her sisters, Pamela M. Manley, Willika Smiar, and Mya Gill; and companion, with whom she shared a home with for over 25 years, Paul Wentz. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be conducted at Noon on Saturday. Celeste’s cousin Rick Ford will preside. Interment will follow at Saint John’s Haven of Rest Cemetery, Colliers. Celeste’s family would like to thank Dr.Giridhar Santebennur and the WMC Cancer Center staff along with Jake from Valley Hospice and the Valley Hospice staff for all their loving care they provided to Celeste in her journey with cancer.   3. My deepest sympathy. Celeste and I met close to 7 years ago at the gym and got to know the wonderful and strong woman, with a big heart. She always stayed positive and optimistic and always had a smile on her face. I will miss her. My thoughts are with you all.
