Charles Eugene “Gene” Mossor, 85, of Weirton, WV passed away on Sunday October 27, 2019, at the Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Gene was born on February 21, 1934, in Tyler County, WV to the late Charles and Helen Wells Mossor. At the age of 2, Gene’s father Charles lost his life in an accident. Gene was raised by his mother and step father Roy and his mother, Helen Wells Brammer. At Gene’s 18th birthday, he was introduced to Mary Robinson. The couple dated for three years before their marriage on September 15, 1955. In their 64 years of marriage they were blessed with four sons and a granddaughter. Gene retired from Weirton Steel after 38 years of service. Retiring in his late fifties afforded Gene and his family to travel to all 48 States in the United States Mainland. He loved to walk on the beach while wintering in Florida. When he was at home in Weirton, he enjoyed cutting grass on his John Deere tractor, sitting on his back porch drinking coffee and feeding the birds and squirrels. Gene will be remembered with love by his wife, Mary Robinson Mossor, his sons, Dave (Kim) Mossor and Bob (fiancé Shi DuFeng “Stone”) Mossor ; his sister, Linda (Tom) Bennett ; and his granddaughter, Jessica (David) Pedisich. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene 475 Colliers Way Weirton. Additional visitation will be 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, at the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene. Pastors Brian Richardson and Larry Barkley will preside. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com

  1. I had the privilege of serving as Gene’s pastor from 1991 to 1994. All my memories of him are positive. He was a faithful brother in Christ. My prayers are with Mary and all his family.
