Charles Frederick Hamilton

Charles Frederick Hamilton, 81 of Weirton, died December 8, 2001, at the Bradford Terrace Nursing Home in Starke, Fla. He was born September 5, 1920 in Pennsboro, WV. He was the son of the late Larmer Frederick and Mildred Veach Hamilton. He was proceeded in death by his first wife Ruth Thomas Hamilton, a brother Kenneth, a sister Juanita Virginia Wells, and one niece Jodie Hamilton. Charles retired from Weirton Steel Company where he worked in the Strip Steel Department as a crane operator. He had forty years of service with the company. He was also retired from the US Naval Reserves with thirty- nine years of service. He was a US Navy WWII and Korean War veteran. Charles was a member of the American Legion, Naval Enlisted Association and the Fleet Reserve Association. Charles was Methodist by faith. He is survived by his wife, Olga Snyder Hamilton of Weirton, one step-son Anthony Brock and his wife Ann, of Rock Hills, SC, four step-daughters, Etta Mullis and her husband Robert of Taylor SC, Donna Yeager and her husband Bill of Palm Beach, Fla., Carolyn Lamp and husband Gary of Weirton, WV, and Jennie Sue Anderson and her husband John of Raleigh, NC. A brother John Harold Hamilton, two nephews Kenny Hamilton, of West Union, WV, Frank Hamilton and his wife Marlene of Weirton, WV, and a niece Francine Taylor and her husband Terry of Courtland, Ohio, also survive him. He has 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV, where services will be held Wednesday, at 11:00AM. Military graveside services will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pa.
