charles wargo, jr.
Charles P. Wargo, Jr., 63, of Weirton, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at his home. Born July 8, 1943 in New Cumberland, WV, he was the son of the late Charles and Catherine Hatala Wargo, Sr. Charles was also preceded in death by his son Kenneth and sister Charlotte. With 31 years of service, Charles retired from Weir-Cove Moving and Storage where he worked as a diesel mechanic. As a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, he loved and served the Lord in many ways. Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman. During the Christmas season, he portrayed Santa Claus in many Weirton Christmas parades, parties and school events. He also marched in the Weir High Band at the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA. Charles’ survivors include his wife Evelyn Corwin Wargo whom he married August 4, 1963 at the Evangel Baptist Church in Weirton; son Jeffery Wargo and his wife Rebecca all of Weirton; daughter Amy Yates and her husband Michael of Rock Hill, SC; brothers Harry of Virginia Beach, VA and Nick of Nashville, TN; sisters Myra Tunandis of New Cumberland, WV, Eileen Huffman of New Manchester, WV and Kathleen Sole of Huntington, WV; granddaughter Kaitlyn Yates; step-grandsons Jeremy, Jason and Joshua Campbell; several nieces, nephews and many very special friends. The family will receive friends Thursday 1-3 and 6-8PM at the First Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM Friday with Reverend Dana Snodgrass presiding. Interment will be in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee. Please consider a memorial contribution Valley Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
