Charles W. Tyson, 77, of Weirton, WV, died Friday March 23, 2012, at the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. Born on October 3, 1934, in Wheeling, WV, Charles was a son of the late William R. and Helen G Kramer Tyson. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert J., and John T. Tyson. A US Army veteran, Charlie retired from Weirton Steel as a clerk with 38 years of service. He worked in the Tin Mill and the Pipe Shop. When Charlie was not working he was a "Pillar" of Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, and the treasurer of the Holy Name Society. He was involved with the Saint Paul's Christmas Lights, Fish Fries, and CRHP. On the Diocesan level Charlie was involved with the Cursillo Movement, and the Men's Retreats in Wheeling. Charlie was also a member of the K of C 3734, and the Fourth Degree Assembly, where he formerly served as Faithful Navigator; Weirton Steel 25 Year Club, AARP, and the 3 Score Seniors. One of his favorite pastimes was tending to his model trains. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Blanche Schirripa Tyson of Weirton, his brother, Richard Tyson of Steubenville, OH; several nieces and nephews, including Chuckie and Michael Tyson. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton. Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 6 PM Monday. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton with Reverend Father Larry Dorsch officiating. Fourth Degree will stand Honor Guard. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Paul's Church Memorial Fund or Christmas Lights Fund 140 Walnut Street Weirton, WV 26062.
