Chrisoula R. “Soula" Champ, 88, of Weirton, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at the Wyngate Senior Living Community in Weirton, WV. Chrisoula was born on the Island of Lesvos, Mytilene Greece, on January 16, 1932, to Petros and Elaine Tzortzis Antoniou. At the age of 39, Soula immigrated to the United States of America, and she was greeted by her brother George Antoniou and his family in Weirton, WV, on Thanksgiving Day 1971. Soula was a dedicated worker. Through the years, she worked many jobs, including Weirton Medical Center, where she worked in Central Processing, Hancock County Schools, where Soula was a cook for fifteen years, and she cleaned the offices at the former Steel Works Credit Union. She also was a talented seamstress, where she made numerous wedding and prom gowns. Soula was an active member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, where she was the church cantor and sang in the choir. She was the past president of the Daughters of Penelope. Soula was also a member of the All Saints Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her church. She also enjoyed Greek Dancing. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing with her husband, Rodger "Buck" Champ. In addition to her parents, Soula was preceded in death by her stepfather, Demos Koukladas, her brother, Emanuel Koukladas, and her husband, Rodger Champ. Soula will be remembered with love by her son Anastasios (Maria) Anastasiadou; brothers, George and Apostolos Antoniou; her grandsons, Michael, and Athanasios Anastasiadou; her stepsons, Rodger, Ronnie, Randy (Carissa), Richard (Cindy), Robbie (Lisa), and Raymond (Loretta) Champ; her step-daughters, Cindy (Ron) Bennett, and Annetta Champ; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her church family at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation will be 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens in Newell, WV.
