Clara M. Roach

Clara M. Roach, 92, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born June 1, 1917 in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Flora L. Kirkbride Martin. She was also preceded in death by her husband George Fred Roach in October, 1998, three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Roach started her registered nursing career with the former Ohio Valley Hospital and, in 1953; she went to work with Dr. Sam Greenburg, where she worked until her retirement in 1978. She was Protestant by faith and was a former member of the American Nursing Association and Ohio Nurses Association.
Clara is survived by many loving and caring friends. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.

Dear Friends of Clara, Clara was a delightful woman! She and Fred were great neighbors/friends to my mother, Rosemary Williams. Rose passed away 7 years ago on September 14. Clara was intelligent, funny, witty, and always has wisdom to share. She was an inspiration to me. I always liked to hear about her nursing adventures. She truly loved Fred, and she missed him dearly. I hope they are reunited in heaven. Many blessings, Clara. We hope to see you one day again. Barbie and Gary
