Clemes G. Arnas, 103, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born April 2, 1902 in Rhodes Island, Greece, he was the son of the late George and Olga Frangoulas Arnas. Clemes was also preceded in death by his wife Othea Toutsi Arnas whom he married in March 1932; brothers Phillip, Manolis, Charles and John Arnas and sister Constance Souranis. With over 45 years of service, Clemes retired from National Steel where he worked as a wireman in the Tin Mill. He was a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and the Pan Rhodian Society. He was the leader and clarinet player for The Greek Band that played for many weddings and dances in the tri-state area. Clemes’ survivors include his sons John Arnas and his wife Kathy of Weirton and Dr. George Arnas and his wife Barbara of Saginaw, Michigan; 3 step-grandsons Brian, Paul and Jonathan Oxier; 2 step great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews and his caregiver, Barbara Baker of Steubenville, OH. The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday from 10AM until the 11AM funeral services at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will be in the All Saints Greek Orthodox Cemetery, Weirton.
