  8. To the family of Dana Spencer, Your dad was definitely a gentleman, and a person that I considered a true friend. I came to the machine shop in 1985 and your dad worked as a precision grinder at the time. Things were rough back then for minorities, let alone for a black woman. I was ridiculed and treated very poorly by some employees, but not by your dad. He was quiet and very respectful. He let me know that the way to make it was to keep quiet, learn the trade, and that some who claimed to be machinist were not “true machinist.” I stayed in the shop until I retired in March 2008. Funny thing, they ended up voting for me to be their steward for two terms. May God Bless and keep your family.
